The female breast has long been a subject of fascination. During
the Sexual Revolution of the 1960s and the beginning of the Women's Liberation
Movement, the breast was often seen (or not seen) as the symbol of male's
sexual fascination. The pages of Playboy magazine displayed voluptuous breasts
for post-pubescent males to fantasize over. Sexual morals were being modified,
and American men and women were trying to discover just how to function in
these newly liberated times.
In today's social media culture women are seeing their breasts as weapons of empowerment. Icons of female beauty usually have ample breast appeal, and nearly everyone wants to see the latest fashions promoting sheer materials and plunging decolletage.
But there are health issues at work in these times. A large percentage of women having large breasts do see them as getting in the way. There was the case of a top ranked female tennis player who went through breast reduction surgery and found her game and her ranking greatly improved. For women with less than pendulous breasts, the idea of going braless is appealing. But the accepted level of modesty decries the limits to which breasts can be shown and denies that female nipples ever be seen.
A new product, nipple petals, has entered the marketplace for those women who want the freedom of being unrestrained but want to maintain the conventional standard of decency. The form of the nipple petals is just that, shaped like the blossoms of a flower. They are designed to fit the curvature of the breast better than a circular form which would ripple as it conforms to the natural oval shape of the breast. The gentle adhesive of the nipple petals secures them to the surface of the skin for the needed privacy while allowing freedom, especially while wearing form revealing fashions where a bra would appear out of place.
Nipple petals are here to stay.
