Support for Israel - Holocaust Survivors Support

For a compassionate nation such as ours here in the United States, our support for Holocaust Survivors remains important. We may believe that it should as well for all countries that were involved in World War II, especially after the revealed Jewish plight of concentration camp deaths, and countless atrocities we today may still not be able to imagine. Thankfully, implementation of this mission is active and strong.

The Jewish Federations of North America has maintained the focus, making it a priority of their organization to aid survivors in living out their final years with respect, dignity, and a semblance of peace of mind.

A Community at Risk

Of the approximately 100,000 Holocaust survivors in the United States, one quarter are
age 85 or older; one quarter of these octogenarians live in poverty. These statistics, understandably, mark this faction as being a high-risk group for depression, isolation, and health problems associated with physical and emotional decline. Tragically, this can set up higher frequencies of traumatic memories regarding wartime experiences.

Support for Israel starts with acknowledging the issues with workable solutions by treating this community, no matter where they live, with deserved and effective services, including home healthcare, therapeutic and nutritional counseling, and socialization opportunities. What we might take for granted in our every day lives is absolutely needed now.
